Tex. Gov't Code Section 572.027
Filing Dates for Candidates


(a)

An individual who is a partisan or independent candidate for an office as an elected officer shall file the financial statement required by this subchapter not later than the later of:

(1)

the 60th day after the date of the regular filing deadline for an application for a place on the ballot in the general primary election; or

(2)

February 12.

(b)

If the deadline under which a candidate files an application for a place on the ballot, other than the regular filing deadline for an independent candidate, or files a declaration of write-in candidacy falls after the date of the regular filing deadline for candidates in the general primary election, the candidate shall file the financial statement not later than the 30th day after that later deadline. However, if that deadline falls after the 35th day before the date of the election in which the candidate is running, the candidate shall file the statement not later than the fifth day before the date of that election.

(c)

An individual who is a candidate in a special election for an office as an elected officer shall file the financial statement not later than the fifth day before the date of that election.

(d)

An individual nominated to fill a vacancy in a nomination as a candidate for a position as an elected officer under Chapter 145 (Withdrawal, Death and Ineligibility of Candidate), Election Code, shall file the financial statement not later than the 15th day after the date the certificate of nomination required by Section 145.037 (Certification of Replacement Nominee for Placement on Ballot) or 145.038 (Failure of District Executive Committee to Make Replacement Nomination), Election Code, is filed.
