N.Y. Abandoned Property Law Section 1002
Publication of notice of abandoned property


1.

Every such corporation shall cause to be published, on or before the first day of November in each year, once in a newspaper of general circulation in each county where a damaged parcel included in such report is located a notice, approved as to form by the state comptroller, stating:

(a)

That a report of all awards in condemnation proceedings unclaimed for more than three years has been made to the state comptroller and that a copy thereof is on file and open to public inspection, if a public corporation at the office of the chief fiscal officer thereof; or if not a public corporation at the principal office or place of business of such corporation;

(b)

That such awards, together with any interest due thereon and less lawful deductions, will be paid by it on or before the succeeding thirty-first day of January to persons establishing to its satisfaction their right to receive the same; and

(c)

That in the succeeding month of February, and on or before the tenth day thereof, such awards, together with any interest due thereon and less lawful deductions, still remaining will be paid to the state comptroller and that it shall thereupon cease to be liable therefor.

2.

Such corporation shall file with the state comptroller on or before the tenth day of November proof by affidavit of such publication.
