Tex. Local Gov't Code Section 179.002
Applicability of Chapter

This chapter applies only to:

(1)

a municipality with a population of 30,000 or less that has not adopted Chapter 174 (Fire and Police Employee Relations); and

(2)

a county with a population of 250,000 or less that has not adopted Chapter 174 (Fire and Police Employee Relations).
