Imprisonment; Contempt


(a)

A person is not subject to personal attachment or imprisonment for the failure to pay a civil penalty assessed under this subchapter.

(b)

This subchapter does not affect the power of a court to imprison a person for contempt of valid court orders or the availability of remedies or procedures for the collection of a judgment assessing civil penalties. The remedies under Section 31.002 (Collection of Judgment Through Court Proceeding), Civil Practice and Remedies Code, are preserved.
