Tex. Bus. Orgs. Code Section 252.017
Chapter Controlling

(a)

Except as provided by Subsection (b), the only provisions of this code that apply to or govern a nonprofit association are the provisions of this chapter.

(b)

Chapters 1 (General Provisions), 4 (Partnerships), and 10 (Mergers, Interest Exchanges, Conversions, and Sales of Assets) and, if a nonprofit association designates an agent for service of process, Subchapter E, Chapter 5 (Real Estate Investment Trusts), apply to a nonprofit association.
