Tex. Health & Safety Code Section 576.024
Use of Physical Restraint


(a)

A physical restraint may not be applied to a patient unless a physician prescribes the restraint.

(b)

A physical restraint shall be removed as soon as possible.

(c)

Each use of a physical restraint and the reason for the use shall be made a part of the patient’s clinical record. The physician who prescribed the restraint shall sign the record.
