Tex. Health & Safety Code Section 578.005
Physician Requirement


(a)

Only a physician may administer electroconvulsive therapy.

(b)

A physician may not delegate the act of administering the therapy. A nonphysician who administers electroconvulsive therapy is considered to be practicing medicine in violation of Subtitle B, Title 3, Occupations Code.
