A certificate issued under this article shall be valid for one calendar year. An after school program that wishes to create a new certificate for the subsequent year shall, by January 1 of that year, verify with the department, pursuant to Section 8490.2, that the after school program continues to follow the DASH recognition program criteria pursuant to Section 8490.3.
