CA Sts & High Code Section 229.26

(a)

Except as provided in subdivision (b), the distance from the nearest highway intersection to the nearest facility or attraction shall not exceed 10 miles.

(b)

Notwithstanding subdivision (a), the maximum distance from the signed intersection to the nearest facility or attraction shall not exceed the following:

(1)

One mile for a service station.

(2)

Three miles for food or lodging facilities.
