CA Welf & Inst Code Section 14183.6

(a)

The department shall enter into an interagency agreement with the Department of Managed Health Care to have the Department of Managed Health Care, on behalf of the department, conduct financial audits, medical surveys, and a review of the provider networks of the managed care health plans participating in the demonstration project and the Medi-Cal managed care expansion into rural counties. The interagency agreement shall be updated, as necessary, on an annual basis in order to maintain functional clarity regarding the roles and responsibilities of these core activities. The department shall not delegate its authority under this division as the single state Medicaid agency to the Department of Managed Health Care.

(b)

This section shall be operative only if Section 19 of the act that added this section becomes inoperative pursuant to subdivision (b) of that Section 19.
