N.Y. General Business Law Section 203
Value of animals


No animal belonging to a guest and destroyed by fire while on the premises of any inn keeper shall be deemed of greater value than three hundred dollars, unless an agreement shall be proved between such guest and inn keeper that a higher estimate shall be made of the same.
