Tex. Human Resources Code Section 203.006
Medicaid Benefits

The department shall:

(1)

identify areas in which federal Medicaid program benefits could be used in a manner that is cost-effective for juveniles in the juvenile justice system;

(2)

develop a program to encourage application for and receipt of Medicaid benefits;

(3)

provide technical assistance to counties relating to eligibility for Medicaid benefits; and

(4)

monitor the extent to which counties make use of Medicaid benefits.
