Tex. Labor Code Section 315.004
Adult Education Assessment

The commission shall, in consultation with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and the Texas Education Agency, review the standardized assessment mechanism required under Section 315.002 (Commission Duties)(a)(7) and recommend any changes necessary to align the assessment with the assessments designated under Section 51.334 (Assessment Instruments), Education Code, to allow for the proper placement of a student in an adult basic education course or to provide the student with the proper developmental or English as a second language coursework, as appropriate.
