Tex. Occ. Code Section 554.009
Lease or Purchase of Vehicles

(a)

The board may lease or purchase vehicles for use in official board business.

(b)

A vehicle acquired under Subsection (a) is exempt from a requirement to bear state government identification.

(c)

The board may register a vehicle with the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles in an alias name only for investigative personnel.
