Tex. Transp. Code Section 647.008
Physical Examination Requirement


(a)

A person may not operate a motor vehicle transporting migrant agricultural workers and a carrier may not permit or require a person to operate the motor vehicle unless:

(1)

the person has been physically examined by a licensed doctor of medicine or osteopathy during the preceding 36 months; and

(2)

the doctor certifies that the person is physically qualified in accordance with Section 647.007 (Operator Physical Requirements).

(b)

The doctor’s certificate must state:
Qualified under that law
Qualified only when wearing glasses or corrective lenses

(c)

A carrier shall keep in its files at the carrier’s principal place of business a legible doctor’s certificate or a legible photographically reproduced copy of the doctor’s certificate for each operator it employs or uses.

(d)

An operator shall carry the operator’s legible doctor’s certificate or a legible photographically reproduced copy of the doctor’s certificate when operating the motor vehicle.
